Grab the afternoon and give it over to having some special time together getting playful, curious and creative in nature.
Head on over to Victoria Park, Trinity, Edinburgh and these are some of the types of activities you and your child can expect to explore during our time together.
Get curious- Exploration of the sights, textures, and sounds of nature
Get creative- Simple mark making with leaves and twigs, collecting natural materials and creating natural art
Get comfy- Create simple dens from everyday and natural resources.
Get chilled- Explore and chill out together from our very own base camp with the sun or wind on your face.
These sessions are for children aged between 4-8 years old.
I want to give you and your child the opportunity to spend creative and playful time outdoors together- learning through imagination, learning using natural and reusable materials, learning through connection with nature, learning through exploration.
I want to encourage you to stop and settle for a while, connect with your own and your child's naturally creative and playful abilities and the natural surroundings that are nearby.
With these Creative in Nature sessions I'm offering you this chance to experience elements of this locally, where nature is allowed to shine, in beautiful Edinburgh.
Each session will have a number of creative activity options for you to try together.
I will provide some juice and fruit but please feel free to bring your own snack.
We will be spending the whole session outdoors, so please dress appropriately for our gloriously unpredictable Scottish weather. Coat, hat, gloves, scarf at a minimum.
I'm not afraid if a little weather and I hope you're not either. :)
We will set up a temporary shelter in the park should we need to use it during the session.

A little bit about me:
I'm Jaimie MacDonald the owner of Made Curious. I am an creative educator, maker, life coach and lover of being outdoors, surrounded by nature.
Over the last couple of years, I have been co-delivering a group called Forest Families in Midlothian, where Children and families are encouraged to explore local woodlands; engaged with the local community as part of a Nature Play Research project the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh, as well as co-designing and delivering an online course for adults entitled Connect to Nature: Connect to Self.
Whilst in places and spaces I have seen the huge benefits that children and their parents/carers gain from going outside, slowing down, noticing the details as well as the bigger picture and getting creative, and playful in nature, simply and without expectation. I also want to share my years of experience in delivering creative sessions with children and adults.
I am PVG registered and have a current first aid qualification.
So, join me and let's learn and be playful together
with warmth and wonder
Jaimie x
